섬세하고 독특한 사운드로 다양한 장르를 넘나드는 GLOWCEAN은 7살부터 고등학교 2학년까지 클래식 피아노를 배우며 뮤지션의 꿈을 키웠다. 고등학교 졸업 후 재즈피아니스트 곽윤찬의 사사를 받아 2012년 Piano Performance 전공으로 버클리음대를 입학, 이후 Flying Lotus, Mura Masa, Tokimonsta 등 독창적이면서도 대중적인 사운드를 모두 아우르는 뮤지션의 영향을 받아 2018년 Electronic Production & Design 전공으로 버클리음대를 졸업하였다. 

한국으로 돌아와 LYL Ent. 와 아티스트 · 프로듀서로 계약 후, 첫 정규 앨범 준비를 통해 경험과 실력을 쌓았으며 2021년 1월 첫 정규 앨범 ‘ESSENCE’ 으로 데뷔하였다. 아티스트 SUZANNE 과 THAMA가 피처링으로 참여한 의 타이틀 곡 ‘Wheels’ 는 Spotify의 TrenChill K-R&B 플레이리스트에 올라 20만이 넘는 재생수를 기록, 신인으로서 좋은 성적을 보여주었으며 해당 앨범은 음악 웹진 ‘온음’이 선정한 2021년 부문, 부문의 후보로 올라 뮤지션으로서의 존재감을 나타내었다. 이후 ‘Zero Gravity (feat. Summer Soul)’ (2021), ‘Hwanhee’ (2022) 등 각각의 싱글 앨범을 발매, LG화학의 YVOIRE Y-Soultion의 광고음악의 작,편곡 으로 참여하였으며 드라마 ‘우리들의 블루스’ 의 OST ‘Whisky on the Rock’ 의 편곡으로 참여하는 등 활동 영역을 넓히며 커리어를 쌓아가고 있다.  

Producer GLOWCEAN Junhyung Kim, aka GLOWCEAN, is a South Korean music producer. Having started playing classical piano at 7, GLOWCEAN grew his enthusiasm and talent in music. In 2012, he joined Berklee College of Music, specialized in Jazz Piano. But soon after, inspired by various artists such as Flying Lotus, Mura Masa, The and Tokimonsta, he decided to become a producer and embed electronic elements in Hip-hop, R&B and Soul genre. During his time at Boston, GLOWCEAN released his unique-styled tracks on SoundCloud, including ‘Ceremony' and 'Inside of you (Cosmic)’. Especially, ‘Inside of you (Cosmic)’ was selected for Berklee College of Music EPD Compilation 2019. 

After graduating from Berklee majoring in Electronic Production & Design major in 2018, GLOWCEAN came back to Seoul for his future career. In 2020, GLOWCEAN signed a contract with LYL Entertainment as an artist and producer and gained experience and skills through preparation for his first personal album. In January 2021, he released his first full-length album, 'ESSENCE', and the title track 'Wheels' was added on Spotify's TrenChill K-R&B playlist, and recorded over 200,000 plays, showing good performance as a rookie. Also ‘ESSENCE’ was nominated for the 2021 Best Electronic Album category for the Rookie of the Year category selected by the music webzine ‘TONPLEIN’, which reflects GLOWCEAN’s great presence as a musician. Since then, he has expanded his career by releasing single albums such as ‘Zero Gravity (feat. Summer Soul)’ (2021) and ‘Hwanhee’ (2022); he also composed and arranged commercial music for LG Chem's YVOIREY-Soultion, and arranged ‘Our Blues’ OST ‘Whisky on the Rock’.
